Explore to be Theme at Fall Expo

If Michelangelo can say – “I am still learning” at age 87, then I guess we all have something more to learn!

We are so not done, people! It’s too easy for us to get caught in a rut, closing off our minds and hearts to such wonderful new learning that is available to us every single day.

Explore is the theme of our Aging Well Living Well Expo this fall, Friday, October 2, at Sunday River. Explore and try new things, all day, at the beautiful Sunday River Resort, with 300 other people doing the same, in the gorgeous fall foliage.

What can you explore? Explore necessary, serious learning such as planning for the end of your life, seven strategies for beating the blues, how to have a good conversation with a friend who has dementia, how to get up safely if you fall, and making the most of your retirement income.

Then in the afternoon, take your pick of many fun, try it for the first time kind of explorations – painting for those who don’t paint, scrapbooking to tell your own life story, learn to breathe better by playing the harmonica, T’ai Chi, learning to use your tech devices, the Senior Games and how to join, woodcarving, writing your life story, and my personal favorite, our picks for Maine’s diners, drive-ins and dives!

Mark your calendars now. Friday, October 2, at Sunday River Grand Summit Hotel, just $25 for the day-long event which includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

The full brochure will be available in mid-July, but for now, mark your calendars and get ready to explore!
